The Golden Age Club
The NPC is a group affiliated to the UK wide National Pensioner's Convention which is a Forum for bringing to the government's attention
the problems faced by pensioners with increasing food and fuel costs,
and to lobby MLA's for increases in pensions, benifits and all other matters relating to Senior Citizens. We meet monthly on the last Friday of the month at 10.30am in the CAB office in Antrim.
The CHS is a social group formed to provide entertainment, information and social evenings for people who suffer from all illnesses named in the title. We meet once a month on the third Thursday in the Antrim Day Centre at 7.30pm. We invite speakers on a wide range of subjects, have day trips out, a free Christmas dinner and go for a 7 day holiday in either Clare Lodge in Newcastle. Co. Down or Share Centre in Lisnaskea, Co. Fermanagh. This year we were at Clare Lodge and we had a great time. I will be putting some new photos on site shortly.
The Golden Age Club, formerly 50+ Club, is a social club for people over 50, meeting in the Family Caring Centre at Rathenraw on a fortnightly basis, on Tuesday mornings at 11.00am. We have games of Boccia, Bingo,Scrabble etc and also go on shopping and sightseeing trips using the mini-bus belonging to Family Caring Centre., In 2008 we went for a week to Portugal. Further to that info we went to Praia da Rocha to the Jupiter Hotel and had a marvellous time, new photos being added shortly. This year(2009) we are going to the Maritime Hotel in Bantry, Co. Cork, in late September. More info later
